Grow your own Oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus) at home with this simple reusable grow kit. Just add 1l of water and harvest within 4 weeks!

Contents:

  • Reusable Cropping Container 
  • 600g Straw Pellets
  • Compostable bag and elastic band
  • 100g of Oyster Spawn (or Spawn Voucher: see voucher for details)

 

You Will Need:

  • 1 litre Water
  • Hand Mister/Sprayer

 

Instructions:

  1. Remove contents and empty the bag of straw pellets into the cropping container.
  2. Break up the 100g of spawn before opening and then mix gently into straw pellets.
  3. Now slowly pour 500ml of water over the straw pellets, pause for 1 min, then pour the remaining 500ml and secure the lid.
  4. Put the container in the compostable bag and loosely secure the top with the elastic band.
  5.  Place the grow kit somewhere dark with a steady temperature ideally between 18-24c.
  6.  After 2-3 weeks remove the bag and place the grow kit somewhere cool and humid out of direct sunlight. Lightly mist daily if necessary.
